# Configure Dock & Panel

Set up the top and bottom

In the System Settings, you can adjust visual and functional parameters of the [Dock](/elementary-os-user-handbook/overview/desktop-tour/dock.md) and [Panel](/elementary-os-user-handbook/overview/desktop-tour/panel.md) based on your preferences and visual needs.

To configure the Dock and Panel:

1. [Open the System Settings](/elementary-os-user-handbook/get-started/explore-system-settings.md#entering-system-settings), and navigate to **Desktop --> Dock & Panel**.
2. Select the icon size in the Dock. Three options are available:
   * Small — 32px
   * Default — 48px
   * Large — 64px
3. Select when the Dock must hide off the screen, or turn the hide option off by disabling the toggle on the right from the drop-down list.
4. Enable/disable the [**Pressure reveal** option](#user-content-fn-1)[^1]—a feature designed to make it harder to accidentally un-hide the Dock.
5. Enable/disable the Panel translucency.
6. Select indicators to be shown in the Panel.

[^1]: Instead of revealing any time the cursor hits the bottom row of pixels on your display, it reveals when you continue to push your cursor *past* the bottom row of pixels on your display. In this way, it should still be easy to reveal the dock when you actually intend to do so, but harder to accidentally reveal it when you don't intend to.
